Top Tier Las Vegas players had a few performances that caught the eye of the Prep Baseball Nevada staff on Saturday at Green Valley High School at the Rising Stars ID event.
But first, a shoutout to Pitching Coordinator Nathan Erbach, Pitching Coach Gavyn Bowen, and Trent Kyono (father of our 10U guys Kai and Kam Kyono) for their efforts on Monday at the Awaken Christian Academy charity golf tournament where the Top Tier Las Vegas crew took second place.
Our Fielding Coordinator, Brandon Kotake, works at Awaken. It was a pleasure for Top Tier to be able to help support a local school, and have some fun in the process.

The Two-Hole: Top Tier Standouts at Prep Baseball Rising Stars ID
In between holes at Spanish Trails on Monday, I had a chance to get some feedback from Prep Baseball’s Mountain West Supervisor Brett Harrison, who shared some thoughts on some of our guys who caught his eye over the weekend at the Rising Stars ID.
Let’s start with Brady Kotake (’31), who put together an impressive BP round and showed off some advanced actions up the middle defensively.
“Kotake was a player we were excited to see coming in to the Las Vegas Rising Stars ID and he did not disappoint,” Harrison said. “The athleticism and confidence is already present in his game on both sides of the ball with the size and strength to come, this is a player we will be keeping a close eye on for years to come.”

Jedd Gallagher-Spencer (’30) also caught Harrison’s eye as an unknown prior to the event who will now be on his list of players to follow moving forward.
“A player we didn’t know much about, but left the event making a serious impression on the Prep Baseball Staff,” Harrison said. “Gallagher-Spencer showed off his game on both sides of the ball. The smooth, simple left-handed stroke helped him register an event best Sweet Spot % of 76 mph. Another player with the projectable action that we only expect to continue trending makes this another Top Tier player we will be following closely.”

Finally, as we touched on yesterday, ’31 3B/RHP Angelo Silvera made a strong impression on Harrison and the Prep Baseball Nevada staff.
“There is a lot to like about Silvera’s game and he seems to just be scratching the surface of what’s to come. Flashing his feel for both the forehand and backhand player followed by a line drive filled BP Session where he also showed off his power potential, we expect his game to continue trending.”
Jonathan Rolands (’30) impressed as well, sitting 72-74 mph with his fastball, ranking 5th among all participants at 74 mph. His 2,070 RPM was the second best spin mark on the fastball at the event. Rolands also posted a Max EV of 87.2 MPH at the plate, and an Average EV of 78.2.
Amit Sharma Jr. (’31) posted a Max EV of 80.2 and an Average EV of 74.7 during his BP round on Saturday.
