Fall is in full swing, and all of our Top Tier Las Vegas teams will have been training hard for the last month-plus in preparation for their fall schedules, which kick off this weekend for select high school players who will be participating in the College of Southern Nevada (CSN) Team Camp.
That event will feature a Scouting Combine hosted by the CSN coaching staff—led by new head coach Nick Aiello—followed by three games over the weekend in front of the CSN staff.
After that, it’s off to the races with every age level in action throughout September, October, and some of November before we enter the Winter Player Development portion of the calendar.
Before things take off this weekend, I wanted to take some time today to outline the fall schedule for the high players and families, what we’re doing, and what we’re building toward. Youth Director Nathan Erbach and Director of Player Development and Recruiting Nick Rush will also put together a quick fall check-in in the coming days, but this one will be geared toward our high school guys.
This fall, we’re running two teams, an 18U team and a 16U team. Except for the Super Regional NIT in October and the Veteran’s Day Challenge in November, where the out-of-town presence will be stronger than normal and the field will be more appropriately competitive, both groups will participate in the 18U age division. Regardless of how long you’ve been here, we’ve remained consistent in our opinion that the quality of game reps, not the quantity, coupled with a best-in-class player development program and infrastructure, are the key to success at every age level, but especially for our high school players and families.
Every player has the constant itch to be playing in a game. Every good family enjoys watching them play in a game (most days). It’s our responsibility to set aside that natural inclination and not deviate from the big-picture goals for our players.
Before I spill any more virtual thoughts on the fall and the design, here’s what we have on the schedule:

If the right opportunity presents itself (and we’re working to create it in the background) to provide our HS guys with more games at the appropriate competition level, in a single-game format or a weekend round-robin, etc., we will put it on the schedule.
Opportunities Earned
Aside from the competition portion of the schedule, we will continue to be on the field and in the cages 3-4 times per week as we have been since we kicked off the fall schedule at the beginning of August. The work done there will be the most impactful thing any of our players does this fall, without exception.
I had some conversations with players last night during practice about where they see themselves in their journey, what they’re looking forward to, what they want to work on, and what we’re. building toward, both individually and collectively, and those went very well.
The recurring theme within those conversations was trust in the process and readiness.
It’s easy for younger high school players to see what the Americans did this summer and dream about their time to play on that stage. It’s easy to want to go to Ft. Myers in October and play against some of the best high school baseball players in the country. But those opportunities are earned through preparation.
You’ve heard that word a lot here. You will continue to. Preparation is everything. It’s the work we put in at practices, cages, and individual work. It’s the work we do away from team activities. It’s the work we put into our academics. It’s even the decisions we make about our sleep and diet habits. Above all else, preparation is the separator between the hopeful (and sometimes even the envious) and the ready.
The only thing worse than not playing at the marquee events around the country is playing in them when you’re not ready, I promise. It’s a lot easier for a college coach to see you, not be impressed, and discard you from their process than it is for them to see you as a projectable investment for their program. The players who played on the summer circuit this year spent eight months preparing for that under our direction before they earned that opportunity. That’s what it takes.
In some of the conversations I had last night, I told guys, and this applies to everyone, that the fall, the Winter Player Development Program, and everything in between now and the spring is about their preparation and readiness. Their preparation for their high school season. Their preparation for the 2027 summer schedule.
What each player in this program does in 2027 is up to them. But make no mistake: it will be determined during the fall and winter.
So, let’s make sure we’re treating these periods with the same level of urgency and attention we’d like to bring to a marquee event, a high school tryout, a college visit, etc. We’ve always heard about “rising to the occasion.” It’s an age-old superlative, used often in sports. But the truth is, humans are not physically or mentally capable of rising to an occasion, only falling to the level and standards of their training.
So, train for what you want—every day. That’s the controllable. Don’t worry about anything else.

Top Tier Las Vegas x Prep Baseball Scout Day
The 2026 Top Tier Las Vegas Prep Baseball Scout Day is set for October 28 and is open to all Top Tier players in the 2027 through 2030 grad classes with select 2031’s being invited.
This event is exclusive to Top Tier players with discounted pricing from Prep Baseball, allowing our players to update their metrics on their Prep Baseball profiles and have the opportunity to be evaluated by Brett Harrison and his staff in a program-exclusive environment.
In 2026, Top Tier Las Vegas was well-represented in marquee Prep Baseball events with Ty Kincaid headlining things with his Future Games appearance at LakePoint last month. In September and October Top Tier Las Vegas will have three players at the West Coast Games at the University of Utah and BYU, and another seven players competing at the Super Sophomore Games at the University of Oregon.
